Ensemble Concert 2022

Please read this email carefully. I am planning to return to in-person groups in March.  Here's the protocol for group attendance and the plan for "Special Week", in preparation for the Ensemble Concert.

To parents of students under age 12:
It is best for you to watch group lessons in order to know how to practice with your child, but we are trying to keep the number of people in the room low. Please leave siblings at home or stay with them outside the rehearsal room.  If you must stay outside the room with your other children, please be available in case your violinist needs to go to the restroom. Children under age 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times while at the Cultural Center.  I can't leave class to help them.

Covid mitigation
We will observe social-distancing and masking. The doors will be open and fans will be pulling air out of the room.

Everyone can come to group as long as you have ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNS OF ILLNESS and YOU ARE WEARING A GOOD QUALITY MASK (no gaiters, bandanas, or plastic shields) with NOSE AND MOUTH COVERED.  Please leave siblings at home or stay with them outside the room.

Please wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer before handling your instrument.  There will be hand sanitizer in the room but it will help me if you can bring your own.

I will try to avoid touching your instrument.  Please bring your electronic tuners and tune your own violins.  Tune quickly and tune well.  If your violin is badly out of tune, I'll help.

DIRECTIONS
We haven't done this in 2 years so we all feel a lot like newcomers.
The entrance to the parking garage is on Church St., between E. Friendly Ave. and E. Market St.
Parking is free if you leave after 7:00.
The "2nd level" of the garage will put you on the walkway into the Cultural Center.
Enter the building through the glass doors that face the garage.
To Room 121
Walk about half way through the atrium,
Turn left at the hallway,
It's the first door on the right.
To Room 413
Go to the 4th floor, either by stairs or elevator.
The elevator is at the far end of the atrium, on the right. It's really slow.
From the elevator, cross the atrium and keep going down that hall.
413 is the room at the end of the hall.

ENSEMBLE CONCERT - NEW DATES

Mon. Mar. 28 - 6:30, Trinity Church, 5200 W. Friendly Ave.

     REQUIRED Dress Rehearsal

The term "dress rehearsal" is borrowed from theater.  Musicians don't dress up for our dress rehearsals.
For us, it's the rehearsal where we go through all of the music, as much like the concert as possible.
We'll start with the least advanced pieces and then progress to more advanced.
Students may leave when they've played all of the music they've prepared.

Tue. Mar. 29 - 7:00 CONCERT

Arrive around 6:30 to tune.
